                                   HOW TO ORDER/BID.

Buying from the Auction.Sales List and the Trade list at the prices indicated just place the order in the normal way ie by post. E Mail, telephone,Fax or fill in the order form and press the submit button, ensure you use the correct form to avoid confusion of lot numbers which are the  same. Some of the more popular sell very quickly so avoid disappointment we advise that you  act quickly upon receipt of the catalogue or upon an update to the site.

Bidding in the Auction, enter bids for as many lots as possible and in numerical sequence, providing that you have marked you spending limit in the space provided we will stop bidding for you when we reach that figure.Example if a lot has a pre sale estimate of £50 and you bid £45 for it   providing there were no other bids you would buy it at the reserve of £37.50,say two or more bids were received £45 £55 £70 the person who bid £70 would buy it at one step above the next bid ie £57, in the case of two equal bids of £70 the first bid received would be the buyer at £70, so its always wise to send in your bids early. In the Buy or Bid sale the lots are for sale at the estimate or at the reserve, no lots will be sold above the estimate. In the Trade list bids are not accepted, the lots are for sale at the marked prices, sometimes lots are reduced but this is indicated in the catalogue.

Buy Bids and buy at best are accepted on the understanding that it is left to entirely to us to fix a limit, buy bids can only be accepted providing that the lot has been viewed prior to the sale,Should two or more buy bids be received on the same lot the first received will be accepted and the second bid be void.

Mail/place your bids early, in the event of two or more identical bids received for the same lot, the one posted earliest will be accepted.

In the postal auction to be successful bids should be near to or above our estimates.

Always check your order, we can not accept responsibility for any errors you make.

Telephone bids are accepted but such bids must be confirmed in writing on the correct order form.

Dispatch of goods will be upon payment, we reserve the right to with hold lots until cheques are cleared, customers who provide satisfactory references (two trade and one bankers) may have their orders dispatched immediately after the sale.

For fast delivery of your purchases after the sale may we suggest that you enclose a blank signed cheque, mark it " Not to exceed £..." allowing ample for postal/insurance charges and cross it " account payee only" if you are not successful in the sale your cheque will be returned.

Please note that bids from minors cannot be accepted unless accompanied by a full cash deposit or by suitable guarantees.
